Sales lifted with help from Link

A Hanley firm has increased its sales of bath lifts with the support of Business Link Staffordshire. Silver Crown Associates manufactures and sells the Bath Knight brand of bath lifts specially designed for the disabled and elderly.

Business Link Staffordshire's North Staffs centre was able to offer business advice and the company now has sales of more than £2 million and a staff of 17.

Managing director Mrs Annette Greenwood said: "Silver Crown is a young organisation with the ambition and drive to succeed. As I changed career from teacher to managing director to set up the company in 1994, I had to quickly learn the necessary skills to support this drive."

With the aid of a personal business advisor, Mrs Greenwood was able to introduce business practices which ensured Silver Crown took advantage of the opportunities available.

North Staffordshire centre manager Stan Snowdon said they had a great deal of industrial experience to draw on. They would develop a business plan with the company and then continue to monitor progress to ensure the company responded to changes in the market.
