The Bath-Knight was invented in 1989 by Bill Steadman who is a designer, inventor and engineer by trade. Bill was living in Cornwall at the time. Annette Greenwood who now owns the Company is Bill Steadman’s daughter, she thought that it was a such a great idea and although she was living in the USA at the time put all her faith in her fathers invention came back from the USA and set up the company in its original name as Bath-Knight. In the early days Annette along with her sister took on the task together and it was not long before all their hard work started to pay off. Bath-Knight soon became a household name in the homes of the elderly. Joyce, Annette’s mother was a willing Bath-Knight model and became the first true Bath-Knight babe albeit the bath was filled with cold water.

In 1999 Robert, Annette’s son joined the company as Marketing Manager and like his mother served his apprenticeship as one of Bath-Knight’s successful sales advisors. Through this continued success Bath-Knight crossed the waters and he founded Bain-Royale in France.

In 2001 Alan, Annette’s husband, joined the family business and he took control of the factory and manufacturing. In 2003 Annette’s daughter Lucy followed in her brothers footsteps and successfully sold Bath-Knight’s in her University holidays.

When she graduated, Lucy took the position of Marketing Manager before leaving for foreign shores in 2005 and running Bath-Knight in Cologne, where itis known as Bade-Konig.In June 2004 Bath-Knight moved into its new premises breathing life into a disused Royal Doulton factory and warehouse. This brought all areas of this now market leading brand together under one roof. Together the Bath-Knight family have won many prestigious awards including the Business of the Year award in 2005.

Annette will agree that many thousands of people thank her Dad everyday, without him they would never have regained their independence and is proud to run such a successful and ever growing business.
